Halloween Survey copied again from Miss Becky at Reverie of an Old Soul :)

1. My Halloween plans this year will include...well, tonight we have Trunk or Treat at church and I'm pretty excited about it...although it could rain :( Tomorrow is basically a normal Sunday. Church in the morning, football in the afternoon and friends over for the big game tomorrow night! I'll pass out candy during that one :) Jack is 2...not old enough to trick-or-treat.

2. My most memorable Halloween costume was...I remember being a lot of princesses, a ballerina, a vampire, my Dad, a Japanese lady in a traditional kimono, a jail escapee, a punk, I don't remember one that sticks out really more than another!

3. For Halloween this year I'm going to be...Velma from Scooby-Doo! Can't wait to post pictures!

4. I've always wanted to dress up as...Mary Poppins and Bert  :) Someday my husband and I will do this!

5. The worst thing about Halloween is...that people can do evil things and turn something that is innocent like dressing up and asking for candy into an evil thing. But I refuse to allow that to make us not have fun. It's not a holiday to me, it's an excuse to be in costume and have fun. Be in the world but not OF the world. Also...I'm pretty sure it's hard to find a costume that isn't provocative anymore. Can't there just be a normal doctor, nurse, cop, princess costume?! Seems hard to find anymore!

6. The best thing about Halloween is...dressing up and kids being excited about what they are!
All this being said, if your family doesn't "do" Halloween...that's OK too! :)

On Cloud Nine

I found another linky for today! On Cloud Nine is something I've never linked up to before! Today I decided to!

This picture has been posted before...but it really describes being on "cloud 9" for me :) And maybe some new readers who link over from Pastor's Girl's Ponderings haven't seen it yet!

Finding out we were having Twin Boys :)

Camden is on the top pic and Christian is on the bottom pic :)

21 Weeks and a little Miscellany

1) It's Monday and my sweetie took the day off! Last night we had another Worship concert and it was incredible. The team God has put together on Saturday nights is just amazing and last night was a total blast. They all put in a ton of work! I'm so glad he took today off to recover! We've been trying to carve our pumpkins for over a week so hopefully that happens today!

2)It's been super nice and rainy in Southern Oregon and I'm loving it, although waking up at 6:30 in pitch black and rain feels more like waking up at 3:00am

3) This Saturday is Trunk or Treat! Tons of people decorate their trunks and dress up and hand out candy! It's so fun to see the different themes and see what people come up with! It's super safe since it's enclosed in the parking lot at the church and it's a great outreach event as well! My family will be doing a trunk this year and I'm pretty darn excited about is a little hint ;)
(Mom you were right...I was thinking of the new series Mystery Inc)

4) A little pregnancy questionnaire

How far along: 21 weeks today!Weight gain: -1 Still. Which is insane because my appetite is crazy! Guess those boys are taking it all!
Maternity clothes: Oh yes. Trying to find a coat or jacket I can wear because it's really cold out now!
Sleep: Unisom guarantees me sleep.
Best moment this week: Well, it's only Monday...but LAST week it was finding out we were having two BOYS and they look totally healthy!

Food craving: Skittles and Coffee (Starbucks)
Food aversions: Tomato sounds good and then I either have horrid heartburn later or I puke. :(
Gender: BOYS!!!!!!!!

Movements: They move every day, mostly when I'm resting.
Symptoms: Round ligament pain if I do too much, backache and restless leg at night.

Emotions: Amazed
What I miss: Hot baths
What I'm looking forward to: Jack feeling the boys move :)
Weekly wisdom: Don't hold your 2 year old and bounce around at a will be hurting really really bad later.
Milestones: 20 Weeks is always a big marker to hit, and since I won't go past 37 weeks I am OVER half way there :)

Finally Fall

The last few days have been wonderful. We continue to tell people who haven't known yet that we are having twin boys and being able to talk to them and use their names is so cool. It's just starting to feel more and more real. Jack says both of their names really well and always has this cheeky smile on his face when he does. I have tried to get him to sit still so he can feel them, but he doesn't really care too. Once they are bigger and he can see them rolling around I think he'll be much more interested :)

I started going through all of Jack's clothes from newborn to things he just grew out of. Organizing them into sizes and bins. He had the best clothes, and I can't wait to use them again! They are all the wrong season, but we'll make it work! I've been registering online and having fun chatting and brainstorming ideas for their bedroom. I'm pretty excited about it :) My shower is just over 40 days away and I know with the holidays things are just going to fly by!

This weekend holds another Worship Concert at our church so hubby is pretty darn busy. And we're planning on finally carving our pumpkins while watching some good football on T.V. I bought some canned pumpkin and am ready to bake some yummy bread with cream cheese frosting! It's pretty much my fall favorite...that and hot cider! We're going to be getting our first big storm of the season this weekend, and I am SO ready for the rain to just dump on us! I love it!

Hope you all have some fun plans for the weekend! My new blog design should be up in the next few weeks...I'm anxious to see what Hannah does!

Baby Boys!!

I was so anxious and nervous last night I didn't really sleep...even after taking a Unisom (which usually knocks me out!) I didn't eat a thing before the appointment, just chugged some fluids! We had our favorite ultrasound tech, and she got right to it!

I have to tell you, until yesterday morning I thought it was one of each. And then yesterday I had a dream, one of those where you're not fully asleep, but you're not quite awake type of dreams. And I was sitting in my rocking chair, rocking to twin boys. I woke up and said, "I think it's two boys!"

So our tech said that the first twin was a girl. I said, "Really? are you sure?" She kept saying yes, and I just wasn't convinced. And then, he flashed us :) And there is no denying it! Twin number two wasn't shy at ALL...we knew he was a he right away! We started crying tears of joy and they continued as she told us things looked great! "Long limbs!" "Beautiful brains!" "Great looking hearts!" I loved hearing it all!

In fact things looked so great, we didn't even go over the scan with our OB (he had been behind because of some patients in labor, so he was in and out!) He asked if we were happy, and I couldn't begin to describe how I felt! Elated it the only word I can think of!

Here, I have recently lost a baby, and now I have TWO healthy baby boys growing inside of me! I am beyond honored and blessed! My wonderful husband, the kind of man every woman wants and hopes to marry, is going to help raise 3 boys, young men, to be men of God and that thought alone excites me beyond belief!

God continues to blow our minds and bless us beyond what we deserve. Our doctor actually said that since they are both boys there is a SLIGHT chance they could be identical. They could have split later which is why they are in separate sacs, but there is still a super small chance that they are. And you know what, it wouldn't surprise me at all...because God just keeps showing off! We keep getting blown away by Him, and I think He loves it :)

So, right now one lil guy is breech and the other is transverse. That can totally change and they aren't worried about it now...but be praying they get in the right position :)

Let me give you a little run down on each baby:

Twin Left or Twin A: This is Camden Rhea Bowen. Camden is because we love the name and Rhea is Trev's middle name (and yes that is how it is spelled!) Camden will come out first, and he is super squished right now because his brother is on top of him and he's pushed up against my bladder! Camden was hard to get pictures of because of his position, but he looks great! His brother kept getting in the shots :) Camden weighs in at 10oz right now which is great!

Twin Right or Twin B: This is Christian Grant Bowen. Christian, because we love the name, it's part of Trevor's Mom's maiden name, and it's kinda close to my name! Grant because I am kinda sorta in love with Cary Grant. That's the truth :) He's my favorite and it just sounds darn good! Christian is up higher, totally stretched out and looking quite comfortable. He didn't like her probing around, and would move every time she tried to get a shot! He's probably annoyed that his brother was kicking him and she was pushing on him! But we saw much more of him, he has a sweet little nose. The only good shot she got though was of him with his hand over his face :) STINKER! Luckily we get another u/s in 8 weeks so we get to see them some more! Christian weighs in at 11oz right now!

We were able to tell our parents and siblings in PERSON today by giving them little Chinese take-out boxes filled with blue, "it's a boy" mints! We got them all on camera, and some of them on video! Since our entire family either thought girl/girl or boy/girl they were super surprised, but sooo excited! We then went out to pizza to celebrate since as soon as the appointment was over I was starving! Then we headed to Gymboree where I purchased two little outfits :)
No, I am not planning on dressing them alike. It's just not us :) And no we didn't plan to have 2 C names for them....those were just our top choices BEFORE we even knew we were having twins! And no, we are not sad there is no girl in there. In fact, that's a really silly question!

Here is a picture of both of them, I labeled them because it's really really hard to tell what is what! The only perfect pictures we got were of their boy parts which I won't post online.

God is SO good and SO faithful!!

Thank you for all of your prayers and comments. Keep them coming! I cherish them all.

Camden is on top and the bottom picture is Christian

Tomorrow is the day!

So, tomorrow is the big day. To me, the biggest day until you meet your baby (or babies) face to face! The ultrasound where they look to see what gender those lil ones are! Now, I know some people don't like to find out. But I am very impatient, I'm a planner and I like to have everything in place. Plus, it's a surprise either way....either at 20 weeks or when you give birth. So, why not be prepared! :)

But the ultrasound isn't only about what the babies are, it's to see if they are healthy. And THAT is what I'm anxious about. I have no reason to think they wouldn't be, and I know God has his hand on them (they are totally kicking me as I type this!) But, this is my worrier side. My anxious personality that I am STILL trying to give over to the Lord! Every second of every moment a thought pops into my head that isn't from the Lord, I give it to Him. I ask for peace at every second of every day. And I'm thankful for His faithfulness!!

I've been asked a lot in the last few days what I think they are or what I want them to be. I honestly can see myself with any of the 3 combinations! I woke up this morning with a picture of myself sitting in my rocking chair, rocking two precious boys. And I can so see that! I can see myself with 2 girls and I can see myself with one of each! And I think I've covered all the combinations, so I'm pretty darn sure I'm going to be happy no matter what! :)

We are going to be telling our family that live here, in person and then sending texts to the rest of our family and close friends. Then I will be posting the news on my blog tomorrow night!

I so appreciate all of your sweet comments and your prayers, I covet them! We covet them!!

Pumpkin Patch

Friday we headed to the Pumpkin Patch! We try to go on a weekday to avoid the craziness! Yes we miss out on the hay ride, ponies and carmel apples, but at his age....just going to the pumpkin patch is enough :) He doesn't know what he's missing and we are less stressed! It was a beautiful mild fall day out and he had a ton of fun in the patch. Although the only thing he really wanted to do was pick up the pumpkins and throw them :)

Here is a snap-shot of our day!
This one looks good :)

Portland Marathon and Mini Vacation

I still can't believe I'm writing about my husband running the Portland Marathon. Before starting training in March/April, he hadn't run more than 4 miles! I'm so stinkin' proud of him for not only training for it, which took a lot of time and physical exertion, but for running and FINISHING it by running! And not only did he run it, and finish it, he ran it in incredible pouring down rain. I'm an Oregonian, and I know rain...this was insane! His goal was to finish, not having had an prior experience...but he finished in just about 4 1/2 hours which I think is amazing!

Later that day we celebrated his run at the Cheesecake Factory for some yummy food and great company! The next few days we spent visiting family, heading to the Zoo for the first time with Jack, a trip to Ikea (which we don't have where we live) and just enjoying our last little getaway before the babies come. Our trip to the Zoo was amazing! No meltdowns, no NAP and he was interested in everything! We happened to go on a day where it was super cheap to get in! It was an amazing day!
Trevor was such a trooper doing all that walking and getting up early with Jack and I am so thankful we had this time together. Here are pics of the whole weekend! Before he ran this he said it was a one time deal....not even a week goes by and he's already looking ahead to the next one! I can't believe it!!

I forgot to snap the pic I was so busy cheering!!

Happy day at the Zoo!

Jack didn't freak out, but said, "all done bird!"

Loved the Elephants!

4 Seconds after this shot I was covered in birds....and then ran from the vicinity :)

We're home! I have several posts planned, but the first one will just be random and fun! I was tagged earlier this week by Claire at Fast Forward Girl. This is my first time getting tagged and I think it will be fun! I get to answer 7 questions that Claire asked me, and then it's my turn to tag 7 other bloggers and ask 7 NEW questions :)

1. What is the one thing you can always do that "brings you back"....? (i.e. when you're really stressed or upset, what one thing helps you re-focus and find your feet again?)
Some cuddle time with my hubby. Sitting down together and just visiting, snuggling and taking deep breath!

2. Who is someone you know personally who has qualities you want to emulate?
My Mom, she is the most selfless person I know.

3. What is the best time of your day and why?
Right now? Nap time :)

4. What is your all time favorite song... your anthem?
I don't really think I have anthem per say. I love too many!

5. What is a dream you have that has been put on the back burner?
Probably continuing in the ASL courses and becoming fluent in sign language. I'm not in a rush, but it's most definitely not a priority!

6. What makes your husband the perfect man for you?
He's my very best friend. He knows me better than anyone. He's smart, funny, athletic and musical! We share the same ideals and beliefs and convictions!

7. What one thing can make you smile no matter what?
Hearing Jack sing Jesus Loves The Little Children at the top of his lungs! Nothing better :)
Okey-Dokey! That's 7 questions! Thanks for tagging me Claire! Now I will tag 7 others and ask them 7 all new questions!
Kelli at Living Life with E's
Melanie at Mel's Coffee Break
Robyn at PartialEmptyNester
Glowin Girl at Sugar Tails
Kiera at Chambers Made
MJ at The Cate Family Journey
Rachel at Finding Joy
Here are your questions!
1) What is your favorite book and why? I'm talking the book you can read cover to cover more than once a year!
2) How did you meet your spouse?
3) What is your favorite family vacation from when you were a kid?
4) What is your favorite comfort food?

5) If money were no object, where would you pack up and fly off to today?

6) What's one word you would use to describe yourself?

7) 3 People who are dead now you'd want to go out to coffee with? NOT including Jesus, because after all, He's NOT dead and you can actually have coffee with Him someday :)

Hello Friday!

Ah, it's Friday! I love Friday's because it's my husbands only day off of the week, so it's our family day. We do our best to not make plans that would take us away from each other and spend the day all together!
Today we are going to the Pumpkin Patch! We've gone to the same place since before Jack was born, and now enjoy taking him! We also have a fun birthday party tonight, so it looks to be a good day!

Hello to my new followers! Every day it seems I have a new one! Thank you for stopping by and being interested in what I say...half the time I'm not, so thank you! :) I would love to do a giveaway of some kind if and when I reach 50 followers! Wondering if anyone out there wants to sponsor that?!? HINT HINT!

Looking forward to our little vacation this week and cheering my husband on who is running the Portland Marathon! Sunday AM go to and plug in his BIB number 1341 and watch him progress and keep him and his buddy Shawn in your prayers as they do something they've never done before and if you ask my husband, they are doing something he never had any desire to do! I'm so proud of him and what he has accomplished already! Looking forward to posting pictures when we return!

Have a fantastic weekend!

Things you don't say.....

I'm having twins. Yes, I have a toddler and I'm having twins. Yes, I have thought every thought under the sun...
* I won't get much sleep
* I will have my hands full
* Life will be crazy
* Wow...can I do this?!
* Etc. Etc. Etc.................................................................

So, when I tell you I'm having twins and you say any of the following things. You are not being helpful. You are not being encouraging. You are just annoying me. Do you think I haven't thought that before? Do you think it hasn't crossed my mind? Do you not have anything better to say?

"Twins?! Oh my gosh, what are you going to do?!"

"Wow...twins! Man, you think your life is busy now!"

"You're going to have YOUR hands full!!"

"Twins, and a toddler?'re gonna need help!"

YES. My hands will be full. They are full anyways, kids keep your hands full. It doesn't matter how many you have. My life is busy. LIFE in general is busy....but MY busy will be spend snuggling, reading, loving, crafting, playing with my kids. What kind of busy is YOUR life?
What am I going to do? The same thing I do now...pray that God gives us what we need to be the best  parents we can be and raise our kids with His help. Yes, I will need help. Good thing I'm married and have both sets of in-laws in town, one of which lives a mere 1 minute away AND we have lots of extended family, our friends who love us and want to be a part of helping!

These babies are an amazing blessing. We are SOOOO thrilled and I can't believe God chose me, chose us to have them. I know there will be hard days, there are hard days with any kids and even if you don't have kids. Sleep will be at a minimum....but those days don't last.

Thankfully this isn't the majority of the response people give. Mostly it's been:
"What an amazing blessing!" "I am so happy for you!" "God has doubly blessed your life" "You are going to do great!" Thankfully this is what I (we) hear most!!! These other comments mostly come from random people, "acquaintances" people who for some reason feel they have a right to speak their mind.

I just felt like venting. For some reason when you're pregnant people feel like they can say whatever they it's a free pass. When in reality, you should just not say anything :)

Anyone else here have an experience like this? Or has someone said something during your pregnancy that your jaw just dropped open? Please tell me I'm not the only one! :)

Happy Miscellany Monday!

My Monday did not start out with my most favorite thing.....a dentist appointment. I loathe the dentist. I have a really nice dentist. It doesnt' matter. I hate the smells, the sounds, people's hands in my mouth, that gritty stuff. Watching TV doesn't help, I just hate it. But now it's over for another 6 months :)

18 Weeks today :) We find out what they are 2 weeks from tomorrow, or 15 days :) I am surprised I haven't figured out minutes and seconds....yet :)

17 Weeks This picture CRACKS me up! (ignore the nasty mirror please) I love Jack's face!!

It's Fall....I love fall! We took Jack to his first football game at my Alma mater. He did well! We made it to half-time! He was enamored with the loud speaker and the pep band!

We took Jack to the Fire House this weekend! They had an open house with demonstrations, firefighters and fire trucks everywhere! Jack was in heaven! He's seen them from the road, in the car, and he has a toy truck. BUT he had never been up close. He was so overwhelmed, he just ran from fire truck to fire truck saying, "it's a firetruck!" over and over :) He loved it. Plus he got a free hot dog. It was really cool.

We leave on Saturday for the big Marathon! My crazy husband and his crazy friend (our Youth Pastor) are running their first ever Marathon this Sunday 10-10-10 at 7:00am (West Coast Time) We leave on Saturday to head up there and get checked in and get the boys full on pasta! I'm super excited for them! There will be 10,000 runners! The biggest Marathon Portland has had yet! And the coolest thing is YOU can cheer him on from home! You can track him on your computer!!
Go to this site and on race day there will be a place to plug in his bib number which is 1341 He will have a chip in his shoe and at certain chip check-points, it will scan and update him online! So say a prayer for him and his buddy and root root root! :) :)

After the Marathon and some good eats with friends....we are staying up in the Portland area to hang with family and check out the ZOO and some other fun places! This is our LAST getaway before the babies come! So we're going to enjoy every moment with Jack and make some awesome memories!!

Have a great week and be sure to link up with Carissa @lowercase letters for your Miscellany Monday!
